Lords of the Hunt by Kate King
5+ stars || Reverse Harem || ROMANTASY || AMAZON + GOODREADS

So, yeah, that just happened. Lords of the Hunt is perfect for those looking for a little bit of spice with their enemies-to-lovers, fee-filled adventure. This is slow-burn at its best, I’m honestly dying for the next book and if it was out would already be jumped into it, that ending. . .
Lonnie is a simple girl, one of the humans that serve in the castle, her sister serves as well but has the ability to be more likable for some reason or another. Never do completely find out what it is exactly about Lonnie that pisses everyone off or in some cases scares them. From the get-go, the twins are completely different and Lonnie is likable but also. . .a teensy bit annoying, but in a good way. I don’t know if I’m making sense. I just honestly can’t wait for her glow-up in the following books, I am so ready for this girl to kick some serious ass.
“The way her mind worked was hysterical and fascinating. All consuming.”
The love interests are brutal, you have Bael, my-goddess, I love Bael. Every deliciously decadent word out of his mouth, his actions, his point of view, his mystery, his darkness, I love him. A Fae Prince teeming with so many secrets, yet his interest in Lonnie is adorable, off-putting, and addictive.
“Because, you need to know I’ll kill anyone who hurts you, little monster.”
Then you have Scion. This dark death prince is everything you need in a brutal, entirely too much enemies-to-lovers lead. He is yum on a stick, and so complicated. I am full to the brim with questions regarding him. He always says he’ll ruin Lonnie, but I have to wonder in what kind of way will this ruination take place. I need answers.
Together these two cousin Princes with their secrets, their own hidden agendas and just the complete mystery of them – they’re mesmerizing to follow along with. Both thankfully get to share their pov. But this is Lonnie’s book, her tale to tell, so it is predominately from her point of view.
“I’ll let you keep your lies for now, little monster. All I care about is that you’re safe.”
Vicious, visceral, heartbreaking beginnings, with many unanswered questions, and an ending that left my heart beating entirely too quickly, I am in a trust fall with Kate King right now and I am loving every second of it. I highly recommend this Romantasy fae novel, just be prepared to stay up waaaay too late reading and be ready for a cliffhanger and a bunch of unanswered questions. But the potential y’all, the potential, where this story is going – I am sooooooo in!
Their games will change her. Their love will ruin her.
Lonnie Skyeborne is a human servant bound to the immortal court, until a cruel fairy tricks her into killing the High Fae King…and she finds herself next in line for the throne.
But in the kingdom of Elsewhere, the heir to the throne must defend their crown in the Wilde Hunts: A series of deadly trials where anyone may hunt down the new queen without consequence.
To survive her coronation, Lonnie must bargain with the ruthless fae princes she just dethroned. Prince Scion is arrogant, violent, and guards his own dark agenda. His cousin, Prince Bael, makes no secret of how much he hates Lonnieā¦but wants to strike a sinfully tempting deal.
Every full moon, the mortal queen fights for her life…all other nights, she guards her heart.
